The first ever tour of historic Jamesport will include five of the houses
portrayed by local artist Fred Bender in his painting, “Sunday Morning in
James Port, May 1839.” The 12 homes featured on the tour range from
Italianate mansions of prosperous sea captains to cottages of humble
tradespersons. There’s even a tavern turned into a residence. The tour
can be walked or cars can be parked at several locations along the route.

• On day of tour you will pick up your tickets and tour information at the Jamesport Meeting House, 1590 Main Road (corner of Manor Lane), Jamesport. Tickets may also be bought at the door for $45.
• Suggested parking at the nearby George G. Young Community Center (on South Jamesport Avenue).
• Meeting House opens 9:00 a.m. Houses will open at 10 a.m.
• Tours will also be offered of the historic Meeting House.
• Many homes will require that shoes be removed or covered. We recommend wearing easily removable shoes. A limited supply of slip-on booties will also be available.
• Tour will run rain or shine.
• The tour can be walked in a three-mile loop or cars can be parked at several locations along the route.
